Open House/Player Evaluations
Fairhope Soccer Club hosts Open House/Player Evaluations in May/June of each year for the following club year (July-May), as well as in January to add any players to a spot on current teams and to form new teams if there is enough interest. Players can be added as needed throughout the year, but each player must be evaluated. There is no cost to be evaluated.
There are a few reasons for our Academy Open House/Player Evaluations. Our Coaching Director and staff are not trying out players with the intention of cuts, rather they need to evaluate a few things (as do you), in order to make sure the Academy Program is the right fit for your son or daughter.
First, we need to make sure the child enjoys the Academy environment. It does not benefit your son or daughter if they do not enjoy the developmental soccer program we have within the Academy Program, and the last thing we want for our youngest generation of soccer players is to detract from their love of the game! Secondly, we create teams of players with similar ability levels. This creates a more balanced, competitive environment for games, as well as the enormous impact on the enjoyment of players and their developmental progress. Lastly, we want parents to see the difference between the Recreational Program and the Academy Program as it pertains to the training environment with our experienced, licensed staff coaches.
Player Placement Process
Fairhope Soccer Club strives to place players in the best environment for individual player development and competitive/committment levels. Fairhope Academy is an "invite to play" soccer program. Our Club Director and coaching staff assess each player to ensure success in the Academy program.
All players will be contacted via email no later than 5-7 days after player evaluations. Please be prepared to make a decision to accept and pay initial/full team fees or decline upon notification as it may affect other players and team formations. If your player has not been contacted by 7 days after player evaluations, please email Sara Wade, Academy Registrar. (Note: Please check your "spam" folder)
